Meet The Committee

About the DDCS Committee

Our committee consists of a group of parents of deaf children, professionals working with deaf children from birth to those in full-time education, and those interested in promoting Deaf Awareness in the community.

Meetings are usually held on a monthly basis to promote and: –

  • Organise fund raising events.
  • Organise family outings and social evenings to provide opportunities for parents and children to meet and talk – and that is very rewarding when trips and events do take place.
  • Raise deaf awareness within the community.

At DDCS we are interested in helping you whether it is advice or support you require.

Some of the children whose families are members of DDCS have a mild or moderate hearing loss, some are severely or profoundly deaf, some are deaf with additional disabilities. Some use sign language as their only means of communication and some use both oral and sign language. Some are completely oral.
